Life Transitioning.....

Most clients are approaching or entering a very important life changing phase: Midlife, which can involve numerous transitions.

Navigating the midlife transition is a complex and multifaceted journey, often accompanied by a myriad of coexisting life events. The need for coaching during this phase becomes particularly sensitive and bespoke, recognising that individuals are simultaneously grappling with a diverse range of challenges which can converge creating a unique tapestry of stressors and a complex emotional landscape.

The coaching experience can be experienced alongside:

  • Health concerns and treatments
  • Family responsibilities and caring for ageing parents
  • Financial uncertainties
  • Separation or divorce
  • Moving home
  • The death of a relative
  • Children leaving home
  • The nuanced impact of hormone fluctuations such as menopause and andropause.
  • Late diagnoses of conditions like ADHD, PMDD (PreMenstrual Dysphoric Disorder)
  • Fertility issues, and other unexpected life events further contribute to the intricate web of experiences.

Amantha’s Lived Midlife Experience…

Amantha King career coachI have experienced this midlife shift firsthand having experienced a 16 year complex menopause transition which started in my late 30’s. Having recently become a first-time mother to a 2-Year-old, both my professional and personal life were spiralling out of control as I had no idea what was happening to me. This led me to becoming a workplace menopause consultant and advisor to business and has been the perfect addition to my coaching programs in the workplace. Afterall – we bring our whole selves to work – including our hormones and stresses. I am forever grateful for my menopause experience albeit hard to navigate and I know the transition would have been a lot easier if I had worked with someone like me during that time.

During this time of life, we become more aware of our limitations and perceived gaps in our personal and professional lives. Time can often appear like a limited resource, so we don’t have enough of it to achieve everything we want or need to do to improve our performance.

This can put in place a pattern of ‘this is how it is ‘and results in there being little motivation to seek out new ways of thinking and being. We SETTLE for less because we don’t know how to get more of what we need without it impacting our time or energy – both of which, may already seem depleted. For many the prospect of burnout is very real and evident in the workplace – with high levels of presenteeism and perfectionism.

In the worst cases, we may convince ourselves to step down, step back or step out altogether from our careers. I’m on a mission to ensure that doesn’t happen as too many women in particular have taken this decision already – which is why menopause Support is vital in business – Take a look at our MENOPAUSE tab to see how we can help you retain your most valuable asset – your people. Through our workplace culture programme and our specific mPOWERu® programme, for those seeking an empowering transition through Menopause, this means they can realise their full potential, cultivate authenticity and lead with purpose in their lives.

Embrace the Transitions…

By encouraging the individual to bring their whole self to work it reduces the need to be a different person at work versus home and this is what positively shifts mindsets, motivation and reduces levels of stress and burnout.

Doing this with a qualified, experienced coach and workplace menopause consultant means there is a person-centred focus which positively impacts them personally and professionally and creates transformational results. (see our case studies for more detail )
